today's homily really answered alot of my questions ive been having this past few days. the priest talked abt unhappiness which was damn apt to my current situation. i dunno how true it is to religious ppl but somehow whenever i have problems, the homily i hear at church nvr fails to answer my problems. like as though the priest could read my mind. im someone who's always late at church and reaches just on time for the homily, which is like a reflection on the bible readings that were read preceeding the homily. and sometimes i just get distracted when it comes to the homily cos im flushed from trying to rush to church. but whenever i listen to it, the homily is like a reflection on my questions ive been asking myself and God. and im really awed by it. cos it feels like God is answering my questions for me.

and as i was saying, the priest was asking us if we are happy, what with all the economic downturn, r/s problems etc. then he said, many a times, we tink we're unhappy becos these problems are happening to us. and we ask things like why is it happening to me and not other ppl? but in actual fact, these are just external factors that affect us. mainly we're our own enemy. it's becos we do not really accept ourselves or otherwise, our stubborness to forget others' faults causes us to be unhappy. we might say we've forgiven our friends, spouses etc but if we keep lamenting on it or bring it up during quarrels then we've not really forgiven them. the meaning of forgiveness also includes the meaning of forgetting. if we forgive someone, we forget what he or she has done to you. and perhaps if the both of u are able to laugh it off or even forget what u quarrelled about, it shows u have fully forgiven the person. and that is the true meaning of forgiveness and it makes us happier becos we are able to let go. and when we make mistakes, we shouldnt be ashamed but rather be proud we have gone through the experience and come out a better person. we are the ones who cause ourselves to be unhappy becos we cannot let go, but once u are able to let go, u'll be able to attain our much anticipated liberation. :)

when forget is easier said than done. maybe i need to learn alot more.

p.s. i just got home after a long day so i can only rmb so much that the priest said. haha.
